This exquisite three-piece nesting tea set is hand-sculpted from authentic wood-fired Duanni Yixing clay in Dingshuzhen, the renowned origin of Yixing pottery. Made in a replica of the traditional Yixing Dragon Kiln, the wood-firing process imparts a rich, mottled color with a richer, mottled texture, with greater depth, texture, and subtle variation than the modern, gas-fired style. This is due to the temperature variations in the kiln, which also makes this sort of teaware far more difficult to produce, as these temperature variations make it prone to breakage in the firing process.
