These individually wrapped 8 gram mini cakes of aged white tea are harvested from the ancient trees that grow naturally, without the use of pesticides, on the hills of Xishuang Banna in southern Yunnan.  This tea is a rarity, as the leaves of this tea are generally used to produce puer, or, occasionally, black tea.

This tea would generally be categorized as a bai mudan/white peony, in that it consists of a mixture of fuzzy, inner bud leaves and more mature outer leaves, though bai mudan/white peony is generally used  in reference to white teas from Fujian, on the other side of China.  Dry, the aroma of this tea is sweet and sour, reminiscent of fruit leather, hawthorn, candy cap mushrooms, and eucalyptus.  Its flavor is sweet, tart, and fruity, reminiscent of apricot, hawthorn fruit leather, apple-pear, and phoenix wulongs.  As is the case with most white teas, its texture begins silky and becomes somewhat more astringent as the brews progress.

Its brew ranges from a honey gold to a deep orangey red.  It leaves one with a tart aftertaste on the palate and pleasantly expansive tea-buzz.

Lasts about a dozen brews.

Each square consists of approximately 8 grams, made for a single tea session.  They are individually wrapped for cleanliness, convenience, and ease of travel, making them perfect for drinking tea in places other than one's own home, such as the home of a friend, or in nature, or perhaps somewhere far stranger.
