This tea was grown on the slopes of Wudong Peak, the most highly-prized tea-growing location in the Phoenix Mountains of Southeast China.  The wulongs produced in this region tend to be bold, floral, fruity, and foresty, with a flavor so unique that it is indescribable, other than "phoenix-like".

Dry, its leaves are black and twisted, with a hint of red.  It produces a rich, mahogany brew, with aromatics of oak, cherry, apricot, leather, and hickory.  Its flavor is rich, woody, slightly smoky, becoming sweeter on the tongue in later brews, with elements of oak, honey, lavender, rhubarb, cinnamon, and clove, with delicate aromatics reminiscent of orchids, jasmine, and honey.

Its texture is smooth and full bodied, its qi warm and harmonizing.  This delectable brew has the character of the heart of the forest, like the core of an ancient tree.  It is stimulating yet grounding, with a warm, harmonizing qi, and leaves a pronounced sweetness on the back of the tongue and the throat, a phenomen known in Mandarin as "huí gān".

Lasts 12-32 brews
