This Wuyi cliff wulong, or "yan cha," can be considered to be a variety of Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe). It has a roasted, chocolaty aroma when dry, and a sweet aroma when wet reminiscent of orchids and spices. It's sweet, floral, aromatic and slightly sour, with a hint of bitterness and a fragrance reminiscent of plum blossoms. This wulong leaves a sweet aftertaste on the back of the tongue and throat and has a candycap-like fragrance.
Grown in Red Star Village, deeper past the White Cloud Zen Temple towards the heart of the Wuyi Mountains.
