Mt. Bulang is one of the six great tea mountains of ancient China. It is from here that this tea is harvested from giant tea trees, rather than small more cultivated bushes, which are more commonly farmed in the present day. These great tea trees grow surrounded by the other trees that populate their natural environment, such as tree of heaven, camphor, and pagoda trees. This biodiversity as well as the character of the trees from which it grows contribute to this tea's richness and complexity. The pure and natural conditions in which it grows yield an incredibly clean and smooth flavor.
This pesticide-free tea is harvested from wild tea trees that are over a century old. It is a large leaf varietal, with dark, reddish brown leaves that are beautifully aged. Its aroma is rich and earthy, like a damp cave or the forest floor after a night's rain. Brewed, it produces a deep burgundy tea with a smooth, silky texture. Its flavor is earthy, heavy, rich, sweet, and slightly tart, and it has a lingering cave-like sweetness that lingers on the tongue. All in all, it is a rich, earthy puer.
This tea is ready to drink now and perfectly suited for further aging.
