Harvested from the large leaf tea varietals of southern Yunnan, this is a stunningly beautiful black tea of premiere quality. This tea is composed entirely of the innermost bud leaves, which are covered with a velvety golden fuzz that glistens in the sun. If brewed without a filter, you will see these fine hairs floating in the honey-colored liquid of the brew.
Dry, the leaves of this tea have rich, chocolatey smell. Wet, its aroma is savory, sweet, and warming. It has a silky-smooth texture, with a sweet, slightly tart flavor, reminiscent of cherries and chocolate and a lingering savory, vegetal taste. Though this tea has a fair bit of caffeine, its flavor and general feel are soothing.
