Hailing from Phoenix Mountain in southeastern China, Dancong ("Single Bush") wulongs are well-known for their full body, boasting a fruity, floral, complex, woodsy flavor, with a quintessential flavor that I have come to think of as "phoenix-like."

Snow Phoenix, or Xue Pian, is unique in that it is a winter-harvest Dancong (a tea from Phoenix Mountain). This Phoenix wulong is floral and woodsy. Its dry leaves are black blended smoothly with yellow and flecks of coppery red. Dry, its smell is sweet and malty. Wet, its aroma is pleasantly floral and slightly fruity, with light, foresty depth. Its wet leaves are earthy green and light brown, and its flavor reminiscent of orchids and jasmine. Be careful not to over-brew this tea, as it can become somewhat bitter if over-steeped.

Lasts about 6 brews, depending on taste.
