This beautiful tea caddy is made from authentic Zisha Zhuni clay from Yixing, and exemplifies a traditional Chinese bamboo design. This caddy is large enough to hold 9 standard size (357g) tea cakes.

Nomenclature note: Zhuni, means "Cinnabar Clay," and refers to the particular type of Zisha ("Purple Sand") clay used. Outside of China, all zisha clay, which comes from Dingshu Village, is generally referred to as "Yixing," since that is the name of the city near Dingshu Village. Fired at higher temperatures tends to result in a redder Zhuni, while firing at a lower temperature tends to yield a Zhuni that is more yellowish in tone.
